Totalitarian regimes are characterized by the invention of rights and the creation of institutions that do not inherently exist. The attempt to legitimize a moral disorder through Law is an attempt to create a cultural model that negates reality and is typical of totalitarianism.

The reality is that society survives and prospers because of the procreation and nurturing functions of the family based on marriage between a man and a woman.

The rights of the family as a natural community founded on marriage are recognized in the Constitutional documents of other countries, but were completely ignored by the writers of the Canadian Charter.

Should the rights of the family be entrenched in the Charter to give us more protection from a totalitarian state?
