Straight thoughts 74

The Canadian delegation to the UN world conference on AIDS, argued that the final declaration produced at the conference should refer to a little-known UN document on human rights, titled the "United Nations International Guidelines on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights", which includes a request to legalize gay marriage.

Why is the Canadian delegation to the UN pushing gay marriage when a motion was passed in the Canadian Parliament, with support from all parties, that specifically defined marriage as the union of one man and one woman?

Who is the Canadian delegation to the UN representing?
This is a very obvious way of by-passing Parliament and democracy: Activists with no clear mandate from our Parliament are allowed to contribute to the creation of UN declarations, then the Supreme Court of Canada accepts and uses UN documents as authoritative and binding on Canadian Law.
