The Block gained 50 seats, with 10% of the votes. That is enough to determine which legislation will or will not pass.
However, the Green, who obtained an average of 7% across Canada (8% in Ontario) gained 0 seats: ZERO.
The most important election outcome is this: We have a system that promotes regionalism winning seats, political machines and the cult of leader’s personality, instead of a system reflecting what voters think of party programs and policies.
I am not a Green supporter, but I am for a fair system of democracy.
