(From my daughter's "Political Science 101 notes", year 2009.)

Traditional families had received privileges from the start of Confederation.
But HOMOSEXUAL COUPLES complained, as they were not 'equal'.

So they gave the same privileges to homosexual couples (that was in 1999)…
Then EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS complained, as they were not 'equal'.

So they gave privileges to all the people living together...
Then SINGLES complained, as they paid more taxes than everybody else.

So they gave privileges to everyone (no-one really had any), but taxes were now very high and EVERYBODY complained. Few could afford to have children.
Society was about to collapse under heavy taxes and a shortage of young people in the workforce.

So they cut government expenses and stopped all benefits.
Then young FATHERS AND MOTHERS complained, as they were doing their regular jobs plus all the housework and had all the expenses of feeding, educating and raising children with no recognition whatsoever.

So they gave tax breaks to husbands and wives who raised children in long-term, stable family environments (old fashioned marriages) ...
Then HOMOSEXUAL COUPLES complained, but by now people had seen it all!

So… that's when they overruled the Supreme Court, shut down the Human Rights Commission and stopped chasing their tail!
